Animal facts:
Family Cervidae. Range through the Americas, Europe, Asia and North Africa. Range in size from the European elk or moose, which may reach a shoulder height of 2.35 m, and South American pudu, which can be as little as 25 cm high at the shoulder. Female gives birth once a year, usually to 1-2 fawns. Gestation period is from 160 days.
